ach, this really packs a punch. that last text!! ;__; Stephen is so cryptic and intractable through the whole thing and then that little admission of fear, that vulnerability, it just shows you that despite all Drew's angst, it's really Stephen who is at his mercy, kind of? idk, that is really compelling.
I esp. liked this line:
All he manages before Stephen hangs up is something stupid: “You’re going to be ok.”
Just that moment of having all these feelings and wanting to communicate and then all that comes out is some lame platitude, that is resonant.
